King of Kings Brings Royalty to South Beach
Posted by Thomas C. Robinson on 5 Jan 2009Nights like this don't come very often. The Super Bowl is usually a letdown. March Madness inevitably ends with a blowout. The NBA Finals are a joke. But in 2008, this wasn't the case. The big nights offered up the grandest stages, and the greatest exhibitions of athletic skill. Well in PRIME, we've got a history of delivering when it matters, and 2008 didn't change much. With the historic Jewel in the Crown tournament turning four into two into one Jewel, two other titles on the line, and several new faces showing up, King of Kings wasn't no damn letdown.

The event is taking place the following Sunday, December 28th, from the American Airlines Arena and will feature seven matches that are sure to turn up the heat for an otherwise tempid winter's night.
... MoreFerguson Denies El Spiffy! Rumors; Will Not Appear At ReVolution 178
Posted by Thomas C. Robinson on 9 Nov 2008After the surprising appearance of ubiquitous luchador El Spiffy! at ReVolution 177, talk immediately went to a return of "Superstar" Danny Ferguson, the former PRIME 5-Star and Tag Team champion who wrestled as the Spiffy! personality long before landing in PRIME. However, when reached for comment following the show, Ferguson was quick to dismiss the suggestion.

In addition to 15 members of the PRIME active roster (including new signees Jay Phoenix and Brock Shepherd, and returning superstar Jason Snow), the tournament will welcome 12 participants from outside the company. The odd number of participants also gives way to a unique double elimination twist in 2008, where some first-round participants who don't advance will be given a second chance to stay alive.

... MorePRIME Advertising Jay Phoenix's Debut At GAN
Posted by Thomas C. Robinson on 14 Oct 2008In recently-released advertisements for Sunday's Great American Nightmare pay-per-view in Washington, D.C., PRIME appears to be advertising the "debut" of Jay Phoenix, who originally competed with the company as Ember in late 2006 and returned at ReVolution 175 amidst a brewing legal controversy.
The return seems to be part of Executive Producer C.P. Cantrell's "work release" strategy for Phoenix to avoid litigation. However, the advertisements raise two serious concerns about Phoenix's company debut: that he pledged to not return to PRIME after ReV 175...and that he already made his so-called debut at that same show.

Posted by Thomas C. Robinson on 7 Oct 2008PRIME officials were mum this morning after last night's news that police and paramedics were dispatched to the San Diego apartment complex of Chandler Tsonda. Reported first by PRIMEates.com, then substantiated by an anonymous member of C.P. Cantrell's public relations team, the report was frustratingly vague. Officers and EMT's on scene described Tsonda as "confused, but conscious," and said that the 911 caller was not the Model Citizen himself.
